A portfolio tool that tells you why.

MEDGE Capital is an independent portfolio analytics platform. You give it the funds and stocks you hold, and it shows why the portfolio behaved as it did, what different choices would have changed, and what could happen in the scenario you worry about.

Why it exists

Most portfolio tools answer one question: how would this portfolio have done in the past? A number comes out, a CAGR, a drawdown, and the investor is left alone with it. Which holding caused the fall? Would a different weight have helped? What happens if rates rise again, or the Nasdaq drops fifteen percent?

Those are the questions that matter when you decide whether to keep holding through a bad year. Answering them used to take a spreadsheet, several data sources and a lot of time, or a professional terminal. MEDGE exists to answer them directly, on the portfolio you actually own.

Why the name: Market Hedge

MEDGE stands for Market Hedge. A hedge is whatever holds up when the rest of a portfolio falls: bonds when stocks drop, gold in a currency scare, a defensive sector in a recession. Most investors believe they have one and only find out in a crisis whether it worked.

The name describes what all the analysis is for: knowing what protects your portfolio, and what does not, before the market tests it. MEDGE is not a hedge fund and does not sell hedging products; it measures how each holding behaves when it matters, so the decision stays with you.

What makes it different

  • Depth on one portfolio, not a single feature

Most tools stop at one view: a backtest, a risk score or a chart. MEDGE takes the portfolio you hold and analyses it from every angle, from each holding’s contribution and share of risk to regimes, benchmarks, measured exposure and scenarios, so the answers add up to one picture.

  • It explains the past instead of replaying it

Every backtest breaks down into each holding’s exact contribution, the market regimes the portfolio went through and what it would have done with different weights, rebalancing and costs.

  • It starts from the scenario you fear

In the Stress Lab you set the shocks yourself, on indices, sectors, rates, commodities or currencies, and see how they reach every holding given how these markets have moved together.

  • It puts the context next to the portfolio

SEC 13F holdings and Form 4 insider trades, CFTC futures positioning, UK short positions, central-bank balance sheets and a macro event engine, read against what you actually own.

  • It works where European investors invest

US listings and European exchange listings, including UCITS ETFs, in one portfolio.

  • It works inside your AI assistant

Through its MCP server, Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can run the same analyses on your portfolios, with plain-language answers for beginners and raw data for quants.

How it works

Analytics, not advice

MEDGE measures and explains. It does not tell anyone what to buy or sell, does not manage money and does not sell financial products.

Documented data

Prices from MarketStack; positioning and macro data from official sources such as SEC EDGAR, the CFTC, the FCA, the U.S. Treasury, the BIS and FRED. Every AI-assistant answer states its source and date.

Public methodology

How returns, risk, stress scenarios and attribution are computed is published, including the limits of each method.

Priced to be tried

The backtesting lab is on the Free plan, with no time limit; the Stress Lab starts with Essential. Paid plans are monthly and cancel anytime.

Who builds it

MEDGE Capital was created by Giuseppe Lamberti and is built independently in Italy. No bank, broker or fund manager stands behind it, so its only job is to show investors what their portfolios are doing.

Try it on your own portfolio, or read how the numbers are computed first.
