Market Hedge. The name says what the analysis is for: knowing what protects a portfolio and what does not before the market tests it, by measuring how each holding behaves in falls, regimes and stress scenarios. MEDGE is an analytics platform, not a hedge fund: it does not manage money or give investment advice.
MEDGE Capital is a portfolio analytics platform built for depth. It takes one portfolio and analyses it from every angle instead of stopping at a backtest: what each holding contributed, where the risk really comes from, how it behaves in bear, neutral and bull markets, how it compares with any benchmark, what it is actually exposed to, what different choices would have changed and what could happen in the scenario you fear. From one list of tickers and weights: backtests with real rebalancing and costs, exact per-holding attribution, risk contributions, regime analysis, benchmark comparisons, measured exposure, what-if replays and the Stress Lab, with SEC, CFTC and central-bank data for context.
See every moduleYes. MEDGE installs straight from the browser on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows, with no app store: on iPhone open medgecapital.com in Safari and choose Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android, Mac and Windows use Install app in Chrome or Edge. It opens full screen from its own icon, updates by itself and can notify you when a watchlist price level is reached.
Install the appMEDGE Capital is an independent portfolio analytics platform, created by Giuseppe Lamberti and built in Italy. No bank, broker or fund manager stands behind it: it measures and explains portfolios, and does not sell financial products or give investment advice.
About MEDGEIn MEDGE Capital’s Stress Lab you set shocks on any of 45 benchmarks (indices, sectors, countries, rates, credit, commodities, currencies) or on your own holdings, choose a bear, neutral or bull market and a horizon from one week to one year. The shocks are propagated jointly to every holding, so correlated shocks are not double-counted, and you get a plausibility reading, similar historical windows and a ranking of what holds up. The Stress Lab is included from the Essential plan.
How the Stress Lab worksBoth backtest and optimize portfolios. MEDGE Capital goes further on the holdings you actually own: exact per-holding attribution, bear/neutral/bull regime analysis, what-if replays with the same rebalancing and costs, custom stress scenarios propagated to every holding, and benchmark comparisons with composite and same-risk benchmarks. It covers US and European listings (including UCITS ETFs) in one portfolio, adds SEC 13F, Form 4, CFTC and central-bank data, works inside Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor through 59 MCP tools, and bills monthly from €14.99. MEDGE analyses the real listed funds and stocks you hold, with more than 15 years of daily prices, and runs factor regressions on tradable ETF factors.
Full comparisonSelf-directed investors who manage their own portfolio of ETFs and stocks, independent financial advisors and analysts who need to explain risk in writing. Some modules are accessible to motivated beginners; others assume familiarity with concepts such as drawdown, CVaR or beta. The Free plan, which includes the whole backtesting lab, is the easiest way to check the fit.
Yes. MEDGE Capital runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at https://medgecapital.com/api/mcp/mcp. Add it to Claude Desktop, Claude.ai (via OAuth), ChatGPT or Cursor with a personal API key, and your assistant can use MEDGE in chat: list your saved portfolios, backtest them, check 13F ownership and technical snapshots (every plan), plus stress tests, optimisation and full metrics (Essential), measured exposure, macro event risks, COT and briefings (Plus).
Set up the MCP serverYes. MEDGE Capital covers US-listed ETFs and stocks and European exchange listings, including UCITS ETFs, and they can sit in the same portfolio. Each instrument is analysed in its own trading currency: MEDGE does not convert the portfolio into a single base currency, so mixing currencies means each holding keeps its own FX exposure.
Daily end-of-day prices come from MarketStack. Positioning and macro data come from official sources: SEC EDGAR (Form 4 insider trades and 13F fund holdings), the CFTC (Traders in Financial Futures), FCA short positions, U.S. Treasury Fiscal Data, the BIS and FRED. Every source is listed in the methodology.
Read the methodologyMEDGE Capital lets weights drift between rebalances and supports five policies (none, monthly, quarterly, yearly, threshold) with transaction costs from 0 to 500 basis points. Market regimes are classified using only data available up to each session. Optimizations are in-sample and labelled as such, and past performance is not indicative of future results.
How to backtest a portfolioNo. You type or paste your tickers and weights, or start from one of the preset portfolios such as 60/40 or All Weather. MEDGE Capital does not connect to brokers, so you never share broker credentials. The Free plan saves one portfolio to your account; paid plans save up to 200.

Paid plans: Essential €14.99/month, Plus €39.99/month, Pro €59.99/month and Advisor €159/month, each also available yearly for about two months less.
